WA Virtual Rally Series
Practice Night17 June 2004Report by Paul Van Der Mey. 
WA's newest rally series held the first event last Thursday evening at
the WA Car Club rooms.
With four game machines on offer running Colin McRae Rally 3 or 4 with one running to the BIG screen and the others to TV's around the room. A number of competitors got in and had a great time. About half of those having a go had very little or no experience what so ever at playing video games and it was great to see. 
The action was fast and furious with many competitors choosing the
Citroen Xsara for their hot laps. Being practice and having a bit of fun
meant some competitors chose the Ford Transit Rally Van, the 250 HP
Turbo Diesel capable of carrying its own spares package! The Audi
Quattro also proved popular and the wild kicking beast set some great
times for its talented drivers!
Mark Cameron set the fastest time of the night with a few others close to his pace. Caroline even suggested we get a PlayStation to practise on between events - lord knows I need it!
